Innovative Startups in the TRNC to Scale Up with ITU Çekirdek
ITU ARI Teknokent's incubator center, ITU Çekirdek, is launching a special call period for entrepreneurs in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Under the program, implemented in collaboration with the ITU Alumni Association Northern Cyprus, those living, studying, or aspiring to become entrepreneurs in the TRNC Can join the ITU Çekirdek program. Applications are being accepted at basvuru.itucekirdek.com.
Supporting 500 start-ups each year and contributing millions of dollars in added value to the Turkish economy, ITU ARI Teknokent's incubator centre, ITU Çekirdek, is inviting entrepreneurs from the our fraternal homeland of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to apply to the programme with technologies that will transform the present and future. We will create new success stories in the TRNC
Expressing that they have initiated this collaboration to develop the strong cooperation between Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in all areas, including entrepreneurship, ITU ARI Teknokent General Manager Prof. Dr. Attila Dikbaş said, "We are very proud and happy to be launching a special call period that will support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. As ITU ARI Teknokent, we consider supporting entrepreneurial activities in neighbouring regions to be one of our fundamental responsibilities. It is extremely valuable to us that those living in the TRNC today, who have a business, are studying, or dream of becoming entrepreneurs, can develop with the education, mentoring, and investment opportunities offered by ITU Çekirdek.
We believe that by combining ITU's strong presence in the TRNC with ITU ARI Teknokent's entrepreneurial experience, we will create new success stories. In collaboration with the ITU Alumni Association Northern Cyprus, we will both carry the strong bonds between our alumni to the TRNC and integrate entrepreneurs in the region into ITU ARI Teknokent's international entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this way, we will support ventures with opportunities such as offices, mentoring, prototyping laboratories, access to global and local investment, and geographical proximity to European and Middle Eastern markets, bringing them together with global business partners. I invite all startups that want to write their global success story with ITU Çekirdek to apply, and I call on all innovative ideas that will transform today and tomorrow to join this journey."
Hilmi Kansu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ITU Alumni Association Northern Cyprus (İTÜMEDEK), conveyed the importance of the call with the following words: ‘We are ready to guide entrepreneurs who want to take their place in the digital and innovative world and introduce them to both the Turkish and global markets. We are waiting for entrepreneurs with ideas, projects, energy and faith.’
Applications to ITU Çekirdek, which has supported 5,000 start-ups to date, enabling them to secure $300 million in investment and reach a valuation of $3 billion, are being accepted at basvuru.itucekirdek.com.
