Global Game Jam, the world's largest and most comprehensive gaming event
After the game development marathon held simultaneously in 94 countries, it ended. ITU Çekirdek, one of the Istanbul centers of the event in which Turkey also participated, hosted 160 local game developers for 48 hours with ITU OTG co-partnership.
One of the Istanbul centers of the Global Game Jam event, where games were developed simultaneously in 686 different locations in 94 countries between January 26 and January 28, 2024, was ITU Çekirdek, the world's best university incubation center this year. In the Global Game Jam event, co-organized by ITU Game Design and Development Club, 32 different teams developed 32 games with different content.
Within the scope of Global Game Jam'24, on the first day of the event, which lasted continuously for 48 hours, the participants formed their teams and prepared drafts for the games. On the second day of the event, they started to develop their games in line with the theme of the year, "Make Me Laugh!". During the last hours of the two-day event, the games were tested and when the 48 hours were completed, the teams made presentations of their games to all participants.
We Continue to Support the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem and Young People

When we take the last few years as a basis, game technologies are among the sectors that attract the most attention. As ITU ARI Teknokent, we continue to support our young people to spread the spirit of entrepreneurship. It is very important for our future and our industry that 160 talented young people come together for 48 hours and develop games with great cooperation and teamwork.
The Global Game Jam'24 event, which is considered important all over the world, offers participants the opportunity to gain experience, work in teamwork and improve their skills as well as developing games, while also providing a chance to contribute to the global gaming industry.
