ITUNOVA Technology Transfer Office, the power that brings the Academy and the Industry together, is the bridge between academic projects developed in ITU and the industry.

 

 

As a body to facilitate access to and generate and commercialize scientific and technological information, and support technology transfer and entrepreneurship, İTÜNOVA Teknoloji AŞ was established in February 2013 and was named İTÜNOVA TTO under the TÜBİTAK 1513 Program in January 2014.

 

ITUNOVA TTO, the technology transfer interface of ITU, aims for commercialization and protection of the academic data, providing multi-purpose support to help it succeed.

 

It allows the private sector, particularly ITU ARI Teknokent and companies therein, benefit from the knowledge and technological infrastructure of ITU.

 

Providing services competing with private sector standards and pace, ITUNOVA TTO supports academicians from different areas during all stages from idea forming to commercialization. Moreover, it provides academic solutions to the industrialists tailored for their needs, and carries R&D works developed at the university to the industry.

 

Founded to serve the academy and the industry, and working to increase technological competitiveness of the companies and improve innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities of individuals from any level of the society, ITUNOVA TTO provides following services under 5 different categories to obtain its goal:

 

  • Promotion and Awareness;
  • National and International Funds;
  • Academy-Industry Cooperation;
  • Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights; and
  • Entrepreneurship and Incorporation.

Having signed 310 academy-industry cooperation projects since its foundation, ITUNOVA TTO has a total budget of TL84,000,000, and another TL16,000,000 for 30 other projects projected in the near future.

 

Funded 191 project writing, i.e. 127 national and 67 international, ITUNOVA TTO has applied for 115 patents, i.e. 78 national and 37 international, for inventions of ITU academicians and entrepreneurs.

 

It partners with ITU ARI Teknokent to support entrepreneurship programs and incubation centers as part of goals of the Entrepreneurship and Incorporation division.
